WHAT HEC IS

An integrated view

HEC is a work and organisational psychology consultancy that helps organisations understand how decisions and change processes affect people and teams. It analyses the relationship between what the organisation wants to achieve, what it expects from people and the conditions it makes available to enable success.

For those driving change
HEC supports leadership teams, people managers and occupational risk prevention professionals in decision-making when changes affect workloads, autonomy, responsibility, performance, relationships and how the organisation operates.

Common change situations in companies

  1. 01

Hiring, promotion, mobility and changes in responsibility.

  2. 02

Structural changes, team growth, succession, mergers and integrations.

  3. 03

Technological transformations, process redesign and new ways of working.

  4. 04

Difficulties involving adaptation, performance or relationships connected to the role, the context or people’s resources.

WHAT WE WILL DO

Understanding Person-Role-Organisation fit

We will jointly analyse people’s professional capabilities, the specific demands of the role and the change, and the organisational conditions that may facilitate or hinder performance, adaptation, cooperation and psychosocial health.

To do so, we will apply the HEC Psychosocial Fit Model, which will enable us to understand the dynamics underpinning the situation, define the work experience we want to make possible, and guide the decisions and practices that support fit.

HEC psychosocial fit framework

  1. 01

    Understand the situation

Listen to what is happening, what the organisation wants to achieve and what concerns the people involved.

  2. 02

    Examine the relevant information

Connect the individual and organisational perspectives and compare them with the available evidence. Identify enablers and barriers to achieving a good fit.

  3. 03

    Guide decisions and measures

Set priorities and propose actions that facilitate change and help overcome barriers.

  4. 04

    Support its evolution

Review progress and the effectiveness of the actions, adjusting measures when necessary.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

Greater capacity to decide and act in the face of change

HEC provides you with operational criteria for deciding and acting before, during and after professional and organisational changes.

Criteria that will help you to:

Develop the capacity to align objectives, individual resources and organisational conditions to navigate change more effectively.

Improve the quality of decisions that affect people and teams.

Understand difficulties in context instead of attributing them solely to particular individuals.

Design specific responses for situations that are not resolved through general interventions.

Create conditions that support performance, commitment and team stability, helping to reduce turnover and absenteeism.

THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND HEC

HEC grew out of Mar Romero’s career as a psychologist trained in clinical and organisational psychology and occupational risk prevention. She is also a supervisor for EuroPsy accreditation in Work and Organisational Psychology.

Her experience combines work in human resources development at two multinational technology companies with more than 25 years of consulting for organisations. This career has given her first-hand insight into the challenges faced by people and teams in a wide range of organisational contexts.

Her understanding of the profession has also been enriched by everything she has learned from people of great personal and professional value who have accompanied her along the way.

When a project calls for other areas of expertise, HEC works with trusted professionals selected for their rigour, competence and commitment.

This experience shapes the HEC Psychosocial Fit Model: an agile, structured way to understand what is happening in an organisation and guide decisions that affect people and teams.
